Board your horse at
High Point Farm!
Located near the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains in Afton, Virginia
We are a small, private farm in Afton Virginia with room to board three additional horses.
You and your horse will have full access to our full-size dressage arena. It has excellent all-weather footing and it is the perfect environment for you and your horse to focus, relax and enjoy your rides together.
In addition to the dressage arena, there are trails through the woods and open space abounds...a great environment for an easy afternoon cool-down outside the arena or for that all-important cross-training of your horse.
We take the care and feeding of your horse seriously. Each horse's feeding schedule is customized. And you have a choice of 24/7 turnout with a shelter or a stall in the barn and paddock.
- Board is reasonable at $300 per month, per horse for 24/7 turnout with shelter.
- If you prefer a stall and a paddock for your horse, we provide that at $350 per month, per horse.

Dressage lessons are available at High Point Farm!
Dressage lessons are available right here at High Point Farm, on your own horse, or school horses can be provided as well. My expertise is in teaching the Feel of dressage. I can teach you the mechanics of the seat-leg-rein connection so you can truly know if your horse is on the bit and working for you.
I will show you how to get that dynamic activity from your horse's hind legs that is so necessary to balance your horse and bring the two of you into self-carriage. I can teach you to teach your horse to carry you easily to the upper levels of the sport.
- USDF Bronze Medalist
- Professional Dressage Instructor for over 20 years
- USDF Certified Instructor and Trainer through 2nd level
- Dressage competitor at the 3rd level
- Accepting riding students of all levels and ages
- Accepting horses of all breeds and abilities
Training of your horse is also available. Sometimes, a horse needs a clearer example of the hand and seat to show him what it is that his rider wants him to do.
Once he knows what is expected and how to respond to the aids, then often the moves of dressage come together as the rider fine-tunes his or her aids. Dressage, or any discipline of riding, benefits from feel and communication between horse and rider. At High Point Farm, we have the experience and knowledge to guide both you and your horse to a successful partnership.
I also teach individual clinic sessions outside of the Farm. Clinics are 50 minutes and are customized, based on your experience. You are not required to have dressage attire and show tack. Bring whatever you already have. If you have questions about which clinic to attend, or about availability, contact me.
Stalls are available if you want to stay and watch other rides. Contact our clinic organizers for more information. We have openings available. Come and join us!
