Dressage at Lexington
Jody Swartz, Cheryl Painter and I all went to the Virginia Horse Center in July to compete at the Dressage at Lexington Show.

We all showed training level. We are all qualified for the up coming BLM so we are showing Training Level Test 3 and 4 for practice and to accumulate scores for year end awards. Grace was wonderful, she was confidant and focused in her tests with scores ranging from 65% to 69% improving with every test.

However my students kicked my butt. Jody and Apollo won two of their rides with a 67.5% and a 68.8%. Cheryl Painter, who rides a heavy bodied Friesian won one test with a 74.5% and took 2nd with a 69.6%. I think we are ready for the BLM Championships.

Apollo nicely on the bit.
Training Level Test 4 65% and 4th place.

Jody and Apollo have become consistently strong competitors at training level with two wins this weekend at T3 67.5% and T4 68.8%.

A Happy Cheryl after here first ride of the week-end.
On Friday She and Tjerk rode a 65% and 3rd place finish at T3.
On Saturday she kicked butt with a 74% at T3 and a 69.6 %at T4.

I have to have a good look at that Judge
before we go one more step!

Oh beautiful Grace! Here she is in her first test.
65.7% and 3rd place.

Joseph Swartz and Apollo came in 4th place
in the individual SHAC placings.

Sport Horse Amateur Challenge

Jody and Cheryl also competed in a division called the SHAC (Sport Horse Amateur Challenge). In the individual competition Cheryl won and Jody was 4th place. These eager beavers took this competition further by forming a Training level Team called the Troubadours. The third team member was Elizabeth Cundari riding a young warmblood owned by Anne Aloi.

What can I say they won that too and as a result I received a trainers award because of their collective success.
