Saturday morning's temps were in the low 60s
and there was a steady rain. Not optimal but rideable even schooling at home, but as the day
continued the winds picked up and the temps
dropped.
A couple of hours
before our ride times you could see your breath,
the wind picked up even more and the rain was sideways. We
had gone numerous times to Jody's truck and
turned on the heat at full blast to warm up.
Jody had asked me
several times, "Are you sure you don't want to
go to the hotel and forget about this?"
No we are going to do
this! I've been showing a lot longer than Jody
and have ridden Tjerk in the rain, so I knew
what to expect. Jody unfortunately had not and I
suspected he was a bit apprehensive.
"I haven't ridden
Apollo in the rain and I don't know what he'll
do with all those water puddles."
I looked at Jody and
calmly stated, "You're about to find out.
This
will be a good learning experience."
